BSX Shorts February 2007 Edition


RG BSX Index Hits All Time High

Hamilton, Bermuda, May 2, 2007 The RG BSX Index hit a new all time high yesterday at 5,174.54

 

The Market closed up over 60 points, an increase of 1.18 percent on the previous trading session.

 

Three listed issuers contributed to the rise with all three hitting their 52-week highs.  Butterfield Bank Ltd. closed at $60 per share, LOM Holdings Group Ltd. closed at $3.50 up almost 8 percent and Argus Holdings Ltd. closed at $16 per share.

 

Commenting on the record close, Greg Wojciechowski, President & CEO stated, “The RG BSX Index continues to perform solidly.  The increase in the index value is a function of the Market’s perception of the value and success of the publicly owned Bermuda domestic companies that make up the index.  These results point to the strength and success of Bermuda companies and that the Bermuda domestic capital market continues to develop, providing Bermudians with tangible investment opportunities here at home.”
