"We've created a power-house capability', notes Mr. Hamill, adding, "Joe Addison and Doug Steele, NexGen's owners and two senior IT professionals, are perhaps the finest systems design and implementation specialists active in the Bermuda business arena." The merger successfully links Logic's customer-care and sales operations with NexGen's proven service model - nearly tripling the size of Logic's Integration Services Group from 5 to approximately 13 staff, while rationalizing both companies.
The former competitors share a great deal of common ground. Both companies enjoy senior client relationships across the full spectrum of Bermuda's business market, and as a result of the merger, can pool resources to assume larger responsibility for client needs. "We see the union with Logic as a positive step, not only for ourselves, but also for our Clients", notes Joe Addison, continuing, "with Logic's team focusing on the corporate, administrative and billing demands, NexGen's group is free to improve on our quality of service. We intend to leverage this group's best-of-breed technical expertise and industry/vendor partnerships, to grow our professional services group significantly over the coming years." As for how long Joe Addison and Doug Steel plan to remain active in the organization here in Bermuda - the two have committed to remaining with Logic for several years and will be the driving force behind this Professional Services group.
In addition to IT and Application Development services, Logic Communications also offers end-to-end data and telecommunications network support, including a full range of broad-band connectivity solutions. "The merger deepens the value we represent to customers, strengthening our ability to support every aspect of our Clients' business needs with first rate technical and human resources - from sales and needs analysis, through systems design, to implementation and ongoing development". "Logic will aggressively seek and acquire the skills and resources we need to lead in Bermuda's end-to-end IT Solutions marketplace," concludes Mr. Hamill.
Logic Communications is poised to assume a dominant role in Bermuda's emerging Internet and IP revolution. The merger expands Logic's shareholder value in a key area of customer service, building revenues in a proven business line. The announcement is also an important step in fulfilling Logic's €˜DataCom' strategy which began earlier this year. "Our intention under the 'DataCom' branding initiative is to emerge as Bermuda's 'senior consultative company' providing skilled staff and comprehensive IP-based solutions to the business market" says Bill Dickinson, Logic's Senior Vice-President of Sales and Marketing. He continues, "today's business customer is looking for a single organization who can provide a wide range of end-to-end professional services rather than having to go to multiple service providers here on the island to fulfill such requirements".
