BSX To Offer Series 7 Exam In May
In making the announcement BSX President & CEO, Greg Wojciechowski noted, "The Bermuda Stock Exchange is once again extending an invitation to financial service industry professionals to register for the Series 7 exam in Bermuda."
The Series 7 exam is run by the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) and is viewed as a benchmark qualification for any one interested in pursuing a career in the investment industry.
The BSX became actively involved in Series 7 in 1998 when, after a year of negotiations, the NASD granted the Exchange permission to act as exam sponsors in Bermuda and permitted it to €˜hold' the Series 7 licenses, a privileged usually reserved for NASD Member firms only. Since that time the BSX has offered the exam on a regular basis in Bermuda.
Mr. Wojciechowski further noted, "The BSX sees this as yet another way the BSX supports the local investment community and helps encourage, maintain and improve industry standards. In this regard it is a perfect role for the BSX!"
