Bank Of Butterfield Will Open On September 8

Hamilton, Bermuda: 7 September 2003 - Following Hurricane Fabian, Bank of Butterfield will be open for business as usual on Monday, September 8 to provide full service to customers. All Bank of Butterfield systems and buildings are intact, and ATMs and Butterfield Direct Internet & Telephone Banking are operational, except where no electricity is available.

"Bank of Butterfield would like to extend appreciation for the incredible efforts demonstrated by the various organisations and individuals who continue to help the Bermuda community in their recovery following the hurricane. Our thoughts go out to all those who have suffered as a result of the storm," said Alan Thompson, President & CEO.

All employees of Bank of Butterfield are advised to report to work on Monday morning, but we are aware that extraordinary circumstances may prevent some employees from doing so. Those who are unable to come to work should contact their direct supervisors to advise of their absence.

Bank of Butterfield is offering a Hurricane Relief Loan Package with special terms to help existing customers pay for damages associated with Hurricane Fabian. Customers may call the Loan Hotline at (441) 298-4799 to discuss their options. All loans are subject to Bank credit conditions.
