BCL Declare Dividend And Announce Nine-Month Financial Results to September 2003

Hamilton, Bermuda: 13 January 2004 - At their regular meeting this morning the Directors of Bermuda Container Line Ltd. declared two dividends. The first dividend is a special 2003 year-end dividend of 50 cents per share payable on the 12th February 2004 to shareholders of record as at 5th February 2004. The second dividend is for the first quarter of 2004 and in the amount of 11 cents per share payable on the 12th February 2004 to shareholders of record as at 5th February 2004.

The Directors also released the net earnings figure for the nine-month ending 30th September 2003. The net earnings for this period were $2,904,000 a $601,000 or 17% decline over the net earnings for the comparable period in 2002.
