Ascendant Holdings Ltd. Announces Acquisition Of Palmira

Hamilton, Bermuda, September 20, 2004 - Ascendant Holdings Ltd. (AHH.BH-Bermuda) is pleased to announce the acquisition of Palmira, a gold-copper-molybdenum porphyry with a related high sulphidation gold epithermal system.

The Palmira project is a 100% Ascendant owned mining concession named "Quinapalma" which covers a surface of 1,888 Ha and is located in southern Ecuador.

Exploration works carried out by IAMGOLD during 1997-1998 include stream sediment, soils and rock sampling, trenches and geochemical programs, which have defined the existence of a copper - molybdenum - gold porphyry ore-body. Similarly the existence of sectors with the occurrence of vuggy silica indicates the presence of a high sulphidation epithermal porphyry related system to be explored.

Further exploration activities that include reinterpretation studies of the previous information, detail geological mapping, trenches sampling, adits, and drill holes, have been planned for the future.
