Bermuda Container Line Ltd. Issues Letter To Shareholders
Hamilton, Bermuda: 17th February 2005 - In a letter to Shareholders that accompanied a recent dividend payment BCL President, Mr. Geoffrey R. Frith, stated that following:
"As noted in the press release of 25th January 2005 cargo volumes in the fourth quarter of 2004 were flat compared to the prior year, this after very strong growth in the first part of the year. Overall cargo volume was up more than 10% in 2004, this level of growth was much higher than the average over the last twenty years.
It is interesting to note that the Corporation of Hamilton has finally taken action to remove the LCL sheds from the Hamilton Docks. Hopefully No. 8 shed will be removed within a few months and this will be a big help in easing congestion on the docks. We trust that the busy summer season in 2005 will be easier than the summer of 2004."
