BSX Reports Systems Pass the Test
Hamilton, Bermuda: 8th June 2005 - The BSX today reported that its systems that detect and contain attempts from outside sources to compromise Exchange information are functioning as designed.
At approximately 8:18 am this morning the Exchange determined that the front page of the BSX website had been vandalized. Our systems quickly isolated the problem and the website was back on line by 8:30 am.
At no time were the mission critical systems of the BSX in jeopardy.
Greg Wojciechowski, President & CEO of the BSX stated, "Unfortunately situations such as this will occur. I am delighted by the way our systems managed the situation and to my mind the short time it took to identify, isolate and resolve the issue proves that the system controls deployed by the BSX are the correct mechanisms to ensure system security and stability. That said, it is important to remember that the website of the Exchange is not a component of the BSX mission critical technology platform and during this morning's event key BSX systems, including confidential data, were never in jeopardy".
