PartnerRe Appoints Emmanuel Clarke as Head of Property and Casualty Business

Mr. Clarke will be responsible for all of the Group's Global (non-U.S.)general property and casualty business, reporting to Bruno Meyenhofer, CEO of PartnerRe Global. With this appointment, Mr. Clarke will also become a member of the Group Senior Operating Management.

Mr. Clarke succeeds Jean-Marie Nessi, who has decided to leave PartnerRe to pursue a new business venture. Mr. Nessi joined PartnerRe in January 2003.

With more than 10 years' experience in the reinsurance industry, Mr. Clarke is currently Deputy Head of PartnerRe's Worldwide Specialty unit. Mr. Clarke joined PartnerRe in 1995 and was appointed Head of the Credit and Surety unit in 2001. He holds a Masters Degree in Finance from Paris Dauphine and an MBA from City University of New York. Although Mr. Clarke's appointment is effective January 1, 2006, he will begin to work closely with Mr. Nessi and his new team immediately, in order to ensure a smooth transition during the upcoming January 1 renewal period.

Effective January 1, 2006, and following a transition period with Mr. Clarke, Marcus Pollak will be appointed Head of the Credit and Surety unit, reporting to the Head of Worldwide Specialty, Kurt Angst. Mr. Pollak joined PartnerRe in 2001 and has experience in both reinsurance and finance. Mr. Pollak holds an Executive MBA from the State University of New York.
