Hamilton, Bermuda, April 25, 2007 - At the 103rd Annual General Meeting of The Bank of N.T. Butterfield & Son Limited ("Butterfield Bank") held on 18 April 2007, two new Directors were appointed to the Butterfield Bank Board to fill vacancies created by the retirement of Mr. Roderick A. Ferguson III and Dr. James A.C. King.
Mr. Julian Francis, a well-known Bahamian business person and former Governor of the Central Bank of The Bahamas, replaced Mr. Ferguson on the Board. At the AGM, Dr. King retired as Chairman of the Board, and Mr. Brian Duperreault, who has been a Director since 1996 and who was previously Co-Vice Chairman of the Board, was appointed Chairman following Dr. King's retirement. Mr. Duperreault, who is also Chairman of the Ace Insurance Group, is well known in Bermuda and the international insurance sector.
