BSX HALTS TRADING IN BUTTERFIELD BANK

Hamilton, Bermuda: 06 March 2009 -- The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) announces that trading in the common stock of The Butterfield Bank will be halted pending an announcement by the company.
