Event held in Bogota highlights social responsibility and development

At the event, Odin Group, the Chamber of Commerce, and Santa Marta´s Port Company, maintained a booth that was one of the most visited.

During the conference, Ingrely Veitía Machado, Director of Amiworld, Inc., explained that social responsibility is one of the core values of Odin Group/Amiworld and is central in all business decisions made by the company's Board of Directors.  In addition to the community and the company's shareholders, social responsibility guides Amiworld's human resources policies and programs. She said, "At Odin Group/Amiworld, our commitment to social responsibility is demonstrated in our human resources policies, which are modeled after Japanese policies.  For example, we offer lifetime employment to our employees.  When we recruit someone we do so with the thought that the person will become part of a large multicultural family that is working for a common goal.  As such, we view our employees as our company's most important assets."

Ms. Veitia Machado concluded, "Through our commitment to social responsibility, we also seek to find answers to the social problems of the communities where the company has operations. For example, we have assisted victims of recent natural disasters and have helped repair schools in Santa Marta and Magdalena.  In addition, through the expansion of our operations in Colombia, we offer employment opportunities for people who live in poverty.  We look forward to continuing the part we have played in furthering Colombia's economic development."
