West Hamilton Holdings Ltd Releases Interim 2012 Results
Hamilton, Bermuda – 31 July, 2012 – West Hamilton Holdings Limited (the “Company”; Ticker: WHHL.BH) today released the Company’s interim financial results to 30 June, 2012. In a letter to shareholders Mr. J. Michael Collier, President, stated;
“The Company is pleased to present its unaudited financial results for the six month period ended 30 June 2012.
Profit & Loss
The Company earned net income in the period under review of $396,682 (2011:$291,879.00)
Total revenue for the period was $1,049,431 representing a slight decrease of 1.3% in comparison to the previous period (2011: $1,063,745). This was principally due to decreased revenue from rental income earned in the Belvedere Building as a result of lower annual rental rates and a small reduction in occupancy. However, the decrease in rental income was partially offset by increased occupancy of the Company’s parking facility on Pitts Bay Road.
Operating income for the first half of 2012 increased by 35.9% compared to 2011 to $396,682 (2011: $291,879). The increase is attributed mostly to additional revenue earned from the Company’s parking facility and a significant decrease in interest expense following the Company’s rights offering in July 2011. A significant part of the proceeds were used to reduce the Company’s long term debt. The Company continues to focus on managing its operating expenses effectively.
Earnings per share were $0.14 for the period as compared to $0.20 per share in 2011.
The Company is not declaring a dividend for the first half of 2012. The Company has suspended the payment of dividends since 2007 while the development of the Belvedere site was in progress. The Directors will continue to monitor the Company’s results and cashflow and would like to be able to declare a dividend at the appropriate time.
Balance Sheet
The Company reported total shareholders equity as at 30 June 2012 of $18,425,459.00 (2011: $8,761,712.00). Shareholders equity has more than doubled since 30 June 2011 as a result of the rights offering completed in July 2011.
The Company had a cash balance of $2,270,901 as at 30 June 2012. This is significantly higher than the corresponding point in 2011 as a result of the proceeds raised from the rights offering.
The Company’s Board had budgeted approximately $2 million to complete all remedial works in the Belvedere Building following a report produced by Woodbourne Associates in 2011. This report highlighted that much needed improvements were required, amongst other things, to the Belvedere Building’s functional systems and exterior facade. These planned improvements and remedial works have been completed on time and within budget.
The Company’s gross debt as at 30 June 2012 was $10 million (2011: $17 million). This reduction in debt was funded from the proceeds raised by the Company’s rights offering in July 2011.
Property operations
The Belvedere Building enjoys 90% occupancy and the Company’s parking facility on Pitts Bay Road is 97% occupied.
Finally I wish to thank the Directors, management and staff for their continued participation, dedication and support throughout the first half of the year.”
J Michael Collier
President
