Butterfield Completes Acquisition of HSBC Bermuda Trust and Investment Business
Hamilton, Bermuda: 25 April 2016 – The Bank of N.T. Butterfield & Son Limited (the “Bank”; Ticker: NTB.BH) today announced that it has completed the acquisition of Bermuda Trust Company Ltd and the private banking investment management operations (the “Trust and Investment Business”) of HSBC Bank Bermuda Limited (“HSBC Bermuda”).
It was announced on 27 October 2015 that Butterfield had agreed to acquire those businesses and additionally take on select HSBC Bermuda private banking clients under a separate referral agreement.
