SCISYS secures €3.9m contract with Airbus Defence and Space

Hamilton, Bermuda: April 10, 2018 - In a filing with the Bermuda Stock Exchange (“BSX”) SCISYS PLC, an AIM listed company whose Secured Loan Note Programme is listed on the BSX,announced that they have been awarded a contract by Airbus Defence and Space.  The full filing stated:

Contract win: SCISYS secures €3.9m contract with Airbus Defence and Space

SCISYS PLC ("SCISYS"), the supplier of bespoke software systems, IT-based solutions and support services to the space, media & broadcast, government, defence and commerce sectors, is pleased to announce that SCISYS Deutschland GmbH has been awarded a contract by Airbus Defence and Space (Airbus) for developing the global navigation EGNOS V3 ground segment. Airbus is the prime contractor to the European Space Agency (ESA) and the European GNSS Agency (GSA).

EGNOS is Europe's regional satellite-based augmentation system that is used to improve the performance of global navigation satellite systems, such as GPS and Galileo. The main focus of EGNOS V3 is to further develop the services provided by EGNOS and to ensure continuity of these navigation services.

SCISYS’ Space division in Germany will supply command & control technology, as well as maintenance & support facilities for EGNOS V3, using SCISYS’ leading egmc² technology for the monitoring, control and configuration of the complex EGNOS infrastructure.

The anticipated contract value is €3.9m; the development stage will commence this month and is anticipated to continue until the third quarter of 2020, with a subsequent maintenance phase for up to 5 years.

This strategic win underlines SCISYS Space’s position as experts in the area of satellite navigation and is an important step in the further development and advancement of the EGNOS ground segment.
