BSX Announces Affiliate Market Status with the FIBV

This is the first step towards full membership of the F.I.B.V. which generally takes approximately two years to achieve.

The purpose of the FIBV as organisation is to contribute to the development, support and promotion of organised and regulated securities markets to meet the needs of the world's capital markets in the best interest of its users.

This is a milestone in the development of an international securities market in Bermuda and will assist The BSX to obtain the international recognitions it needs to expand globally.

Mr. Greg Wojciechowski, Chief Operating Officer of The BSX stated "This status enables The BSX to take part in the meetings and discussions of the F.I.B.V. and will help us build a network of international contacts in the securities industry that will not only benefit The BSX in its development plans through the exchange of information with peer organisations, but will also draw attention to Bermuda as a quality, well regulated offshore securities market"
