Barry Munholland holds a Bachelor of Science degree from McGill University and has a Bachelor of Commerce and MBA degrees from the University of Windsor. He was accredited as a chartered accountant in Ontario in 1981. After a period of teaching in Zambia, Mr. Munholland returned to Toronto to work as an Audit Manager before joining Bank of Montreal. Subsequent appointments have been held with Manulife financial and as senior Vice president and Managing Director of Deutsche Bank Canada ltd. Mr. Roberts commented that "Barry Munholland has Senior Level experience in risk management, derivatives, and capital market products.. He has skills of direct relevance to BCB's business profile in foreign exchange and the money markets. We are also pleased that Mr. Munholland brings with him experience of working within both the North American and European regulatory environments."
Barry Munholland will work alongside the current acting General Manager, Manuel Yglesias, during a handover period. Mr. Yglsias is on secondment from, and will return to, an affiliate of First Curacao International Bank, which provides management services to BCB under a contract established in 1993.
