EarthPort.com Plans Extra Security For Internet

Hamilton, Bermuda: 19 April 2000 - In pursuit of its objective to build a strong market position as a leading Internet payment and intermediary system, EarthPort.com has licensed the voice identification technology, TESPAR (Time Encoded Signal Processing and Recognition), from Domain Dynamics, the voice authentication and signal processing specialist. Using TESPAR, EarthPort plans to enable users to access their EarthPort account via PC terminals, WAP-enabled mobile phones and other digital devices using their own voice as an extra security measure.

The system known as voice key encryption (VKE) avoids users having to memorise PIN numbers and passwords. Instead, the user's identity is verified during a simple dialogue that can take place while making the transaction. PIN numbers and passwords can be retained as an added security layer.

TESPAR identifies a person's speech using a very small user template and algorithm footprint, thereby requiring only tiny amounts of data transfer time over heavily-used dial-up Internet, mobile phones or fixed-line networks. TESPAR provides a range of TESPAR's patented voice encoding and authentication techniques.
