Mr. Wilken, President, Jardine Matheson International Services Limited, takes over the position from long serving Chairman, Mr. Eugene Bean, President Bermuda Aviation Services Limited.
In making the announcement BSX Chief Executive Officer William Woods stated, "The Bermuda Stock Exchange is truly indebted to Eugene Bean for his years of service to the BSX Listings Committee and while we appreciate his decision to step down, we regret seeing him go."
Mr. Bean has chaired the Committee for more than four years and still holds a seat on the Exchange's Council.
Mr. Wilken, who is also Company Secretary of Jardine Matheson Holdings Limited and four other member companies of the Jardine Matheson Group, which are listed on the BSX, noted, " I am honoured to have been asked to Chair the BSX Listing Committee and view my role as an extremely important one. I know that Mr. Bean has made a sterling contribution to the BSX as a whole and will endeavor to follow his excellent example."
In addition to naming a new Chairman the BSX announced a number of other changes to the Committee; Trading Member Randy Sommerville is stepping down and will be replaced by Sean Kelly of CAPITAL G. Ian Coulman, Bank of Butterfield and David Surmon, LOM have joined as CIS and Trading Member representatives respectively, while Peter Everson, Schroders and Tim Grice, Trafalgar Securities have accepted positions as alternates.
The Listing Committee of the Bermuda Stock Exchange is responsible for vetting all listing applications submitted by the Listings Department with a view to ensuring that each company meets the criteria as set out in the Exchange's Domestic and International Listing Regulations.
