Previously President of Bermuda Home, until it was purchased by the Bank last year, Mr. Haycock has overseen its transition to ensure that all current and future customers receive the same personal, high quality service that has become the Bermuda Home trademark. As Bank management structures are now able to support Bermuda Home services, Mr Haycock's position is not being filled.
Mr Haycock joined the Bank of Bermuda in 1964. Following various promotions in the Banking and lending departments that in 1988 took him to Senior Vice President level as General manager of Retail Banking, he transferred from the Bank to become President of Bermuda Home when it was set up in 1994.
Chief Executive Officer of Bank of Bermuda, Henry Smith, commented: "Arthur has been a key player in the growth of retail services offered by the Bank of Bermuda in the 30 years he has worked with us. His calibre has been proven in his successful positioning of Bermuda Home as one of the premier mortgage and lending companies in Bermuda. On a personal note, I and all who have worked with Arthur will miss his great generosity and dependability. We have been fortunate to benefit from his dedication and expertise since he joined us in 1964 and we all wish him the very best in his retirement."
Throughout his career, Mr Haycock has played an active role in community affairs. He is a past Chairman of the Hamilton Parish Council; Director of the Mid Ocean Club (1982-85); a member of the Broadcasting Commissioners (1983-95); Chairman of the Bermuda Health Alliance (1998-2000) and a has been a member of the Jurors Revising Tribunal since 1982.
Mr Haycock commented: "There have been many changes in banking and lending services during my career and it has been very satisfying playing a key part in their formation. I have also enjoyed working with so many of the Bank and Bermuda Home staff and customers over the years and value the many friends I have made. However, in planning for my retirement I am looking forward to being able to spend more time with my wife and family, travelling and continuing my involvement in community organizations.
