According to L. Dennis Kozlowski, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Tyco, "We are extremely pleased to announce the addition of Jack Blackstock to our management team. Jack is a well-respected finance professional who will complement Tyco's strong investor relations group."
Mr. Blackstock was formerly Director of U.S. Research at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette ("DLJ"). He held this position since early 2000. Mr. Blackstock previously served as DLJ's conglomerate analyst from 1994 until 2000. Prior to moving to DLJ in 1994, he followed conglomerates and electronic imaging stocks for seven years at CS First Boston. Mr. Blackstock consistently received very high ratings in Institutional Investor's "All-American Research Team" poll and the Greenwich Survey through the decade of the 1990s. Before earning his Masters of Management degree from the J.L. Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University in 1987, Mr. Blackstock was employed as a stockbroker for Dean Witter Reynolds. He received a BA degree with honors in economics from Whitman College in 1981. Mr. Blackstock is a Chartered Financial Analyst and is member of the NYSSA.
In his new role, Mr. Blackstock replaces J. Brad McGee, who has been promoted to the position of Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer. Mr. Blackstock will be working closely with Mr. McGee and the Tyco investor relations team during the next few weeks as this transition takes place.
