In Singapore, Tyco Fire & Security Services secured a five-year contract from the Land Transport Authority of Singapore for the maintenance and installation of Public Street Lighting and Zebra Crossing Beacon Lighting Systems in the West Zone of the island. The scope of work includes design and installation of new street lighting, modification of lighting systems during road improvement projects, increasing street lighting effectiveness, GPS (Global Positioning System) mapping of the location and lighting attributes of all lighting poles, emergency repair of lighting following accidents and underground cable faults and the introduction of new technologies to reduce costs and improve lighting effectiveness.
According to Peter Wang, the Manager of Tyco Fire & Security Services' Integrated Systems division in Singapore, "Tyco Fire & Security Services has the technical competence and service strengths to implement this major project. We are well positioned to benefit from the many new outsourcing opportunities that exist in this region of the world."
