To date, five local securities professional have signed up for the six-hour exam, though the Exchange anticipates this number may grow, as last minute inquiries continue to be received.
This is the fourth time the BSX has offered the Series 7 exam in Bermuda since receiving sponsorship approval from NASD last April.
To date, nine local professionals have successfully passed this benchmark securities certification in Bermuda. Until last year, Bermudians had to travel to the US to sit the exam.
Series 7 is considered a benchmark qualification for securities dealers and is mandatory for those wishing to trade on US markets.
In making the announcement, BSX Corporate Communications Manager Joanne MacPhee stated, "The BSX is very committed to doing what it can to improve industry standards in Bermuda and we believe that our commitment to sponsoring and hosting the Series 7 exam is just one way we can achieve this objective."
