The guest speaker for the event will be Mr. Alvin Hall, a highly respected financial educator, successful author and UK television personality.
BSX spokesperson Joanne MacPhee explains, "The Bermuda Stock Exchange has invited Mr. Hall to the Island to conduct a two and half day study programme for Series 7 exam candidates. While here he has agreed to speak at a public forum. This is really quite a coupe for Bermuda and the Exchange because Alvin Hall is very much in demand both in the US, where he is based and in the UK, where he hosts a BBC 2 television show €˜Your Money Or Your Life'."
Mr. Hall's presentation, which is free and open to all, is entitled, "Guidelines for investing in uncertain times", a simple and informative overview of the current investment climate and the ramifications for individual investors.
Mrs. MacPhee noted, "Traditionally, the Exchange and its Invest Bermuda partners have focused on the local €˜Own your share of Bermuda€¦buy Bermuda' message but in doing so we have always promoted the concept of a diversified, balanced portfolio. Mr. Hall's presentation will therefore be very complementary to our ongoing efforts."
Mrs. MacPhee concluded by noting, "Mr. Hall is both exceedingly knowledgeable and entertaining and we believe that he will appeal to a wide spectrum of our community. We are simply delighted that he has agreed to afford us all this opportunity."
Mr. Hall's presentation will begin promptly at 5.30pm at Bank of Butterfield's, Rosebank Centre, 11 Bermudiana Road.
