BSX To Host Investor Open House

Hamilton, Bermuda: 8 March 2001 - The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX), in association with a number of its Members and Issuers will be hosting a local investors open house at BUEI, Saturday 24th March.

The event, which will be free and open to the general public, is designed to give existing and new investors the opportunity to find out more about their local stock exchange and the public companies listed on it.

BSX Corporate Communications Manager Joanne MacPhee explains further, "As part of our on going commitment to the local investment community, the BSX has joined forces with its top seven Main Board companies and a number of its leading retail brokers to create a dynamic interactive investor event. The Open House, entitled "Invest Bermuda" will feature exhibition booths and a number of brief auditorium presentations, all geared at giving local investors a better understanding of the investment opportunities available to them in Bermuda."

In what is considered to be an unprecedented opportunity, Invest Bermuda will give members of the public one on one access to the many of the top decision makers at the helm of Bermuda's leading companies. They will have an opportunity to discuss past performance and inquire about future initiatives and get a better understanding overall of what the companies are doing. So that ultimately they can make informed investment decisions.

In addition, the general public will be able to meet some of Bermuda's leading brokers with a view of establishing an ongoing investment relationship.

"It will be great opportunity to kick the tires," stated Mrs. MacPhee.

Unlike other BSX events, which have tended to be more structured, the Invest Bermuda will run from 9am to 12noon and the public is encouraged to come and go as their time permits. There will even be special activities center for the children and manned by BUEI volunteers.

"We realize there is never a perfect day or time for everyone" explains Mrs. MacPhee "but we want to make it as easy and convenient as possible for anyone who is interested in the local stock market and investing generally to come along and participate."
