Hamilton, Bermuda, September 1, 1998 - The Bank of N.T. Butterfield & Son Limited today advised the Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) that pursuant to a resolution of the Bank's Board of Directors, its Register of Members will be closed for the period from Wednesday, 16 September 1998 to Wednesday, 30 September 1998.
Publication of the statutory notice to this effect appeared in today's edition of The Royal Gazette, Bermuda. In making the announcement, the Bank stated that, €˜this closure for 14 days prior to the Annual General Meeting, has been traditional for many years'.
Trading in the Bank's common shares will continue on the BSX during this 14 day period. However, transfers will not be entered in the share register until Thursday, 1 October 1998. The last trade date for the Bank's common shares on the BSX, which will allow for the transfer of the shares prior to the closure of the share register, will be Thursday, 10 September 1998.
