BSX Approves Listing of Butterfield International Balanced Fund

Hamilton, Bermuda, February 28, 2000 - The Listing Committee of The Bermuda Stock Exchange (BSX) today announced the approval of the listing of an unlimited number of units each representing an undivided beneficial interest in the trust fund of Butterfield International Balanced Fund. The approval is for the listing of the US Dollar Class and Sterling Class of Shares.

The Company was established as an open-ended, multi-class Unit Trust under the laws of the Cayman Islands by a Trust Deed dated June 18th, 1996.

The principal objective of the Trustee and Manager for the Fund is to achieve long-term capital growth in the value of assets. The policy of the Trustee and Manager is to hold for each of the Classes a global portfolio of money market instruments, Eurobonds of Issuers throughout the world, domestic government bonds of countries that are members of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development ("OECD") and international equities or limited partnership interests.

The listing of the US Dollar Class and the Sterling Class of the Butterfield International Balanced Fund is sponsored by Butterfield Securities Limited (Bermuda). The securities are being listed under the BSX Listing Regulations for Collective Investment Schemes and the provisions for Publicly Traded Issues.
