BSX Approves Listing of Emerging Markets Fixed Income Fund

Hamilton, BERMUDA (3 December, 1997) -- The Listing Committee of The Bermuda Stock Exchange ("The BSX") today announced the approved secondary listing of Bear Stearns' Emerging Markets Fixed Income Fund.

The Emerging Markets Fixed Income Fund is a professionally managed, open-ended investment company incorporated in the Cayman Islands in 1993 and licensed in Bermuda as of 1 October, 1997. The Fund is managed by Bear Stearns Funds Management Inc., a registered U.S. advisor, and seeks to provide investors with high total return, emphasising both current income and capital appreciation, by investing primarily in a portfolio of Debt obligations of issuers located in emerging countries. Investments in the fund can be made for a minimum of $1,000.

Edward Vaimberg, a managing director at Bear Stearns and the portfolio manager of the Emerging markets Fixed Income Fund stated, "We are extremely pleased with the new listing.
