The informal evening will feature guest speakers from established clubs, independent brokerage firms, financial services companies and the BSX. Topics tabled for discussion include:
How to start an Investment Club
How to choose and buy stocks
How to work with a Financial Adviser
How to buy on the BSX
How to buy on line
The event, which will be chaired by radio host Fred Hassell, is targeted at first time investors interested in either forming a shared investment club or starting their own private portfolio.
BSX Corporate Communications Manager Joanne MacPhee explains further, "The aim of the event, which is free, is to encourage residents to €˜own their share of Bermuda', either as part of a well organized club or as an individual.
The evening is designed to be informal and educational. There will be ample opportunity to ask questions and/or talk one on one with our panelists. The idea is to simply get people talking and thinking about investing."
Mrs. MacPhee went on to explain further, "You don't have to know anything about investing, or have a great deal of money to be a part of this event. Nor do you have to be solely interested in the Bermuda stock market! The Forum is about sharing and exchanging ideas, we want everyone to feel they are welcome!"
