In making the announcement BSX Corporate Communications Manager Joanne MacPhee stated, "The Bermuda Stock Exchange, in consultation with its members has with great regret, decided to postpone tomorrow's scheduled Invest Bermuda event at Number One Shed. We all agree that priority must be given to ensuring that private and public properties are secured and cleared following last night's extensive storm damage."
The Exchange has been in touch with the Corporation of Hamilton and has been advised that the venue is not available again until next year; the BSX is now evaluating its options and will advise the public of the new date and venue in due course.
"The BSX and all its participating members remain committed to the event and believe as the new Buy BDA slogan suggests, that this is indeed the time to €˜Invest In Bermuda' and we will do whatever it takes to see that the public has access to the information they need to make sound investment decisions for the future!" stated Joanne MacPhee
