Conexys Launches Personalized Communications Management Solution In Vancouver

VANCOUVER, British Columbia: 26 April, 2000 -- Conexys Corporation Limited (BSX: CXYS.BH; CXYW.BH), an emerging Web-based software development and services company, today announced the Vancouver launch of Conexys iComMand, a Personalized Communications Management Solution (PCMS) that simplifies communication management for mobile workers and other busy individuals. With iComMand, Conexys is first to market with a complete, fully-integrated, Web-based PCMS that provides flexibility and choice for using the Internet to communicate more efficiently.

Designed as an easy-to-use, personal Web-based messaging and communications solution, the Conexys iComMand PCMS manages all e-mail, voice and fax messages moving through the office and home by offering individuals ubiquitous access to personalized information based on a highly reliable and scalable Internet Protocol (IP) architecture. In addition, the iComMand PCMS consists of a suite of software solutions accessible from a variety of media, including wire-line and wireless telephones, the Internet and handheld personal digital assistants (PDAs).

"The convergence of the telecommunications, cable and Internet industries and the widespread acceptance of the PC as a communications tool, combined with the need to increase productivity in the office and the home, are driving the demand for a simple-to-use, fully integrated PCMS system such as Conexys iComMand," says Edward Furtak, CEO and founder of Conexys. "Our solution goes beyond unified messaging, taking it to the next logical level by providing Vancouver residents local access to a complete, personalized offering that makes communication management convenient and efficient for today's hectic work schedules and busy lifestyles."

According to Toronto-based The Convergence Consulting Group Ltd., the number of Canadian business and household Internet subscribers is growing by about 25 per cent annually, with almost half of Canadian households expected to have access to the Internet by 2001 (1). A recent report from Cambridge, Mass.-based Forrester Research Inc., stated that nearly 35 per cent of the BC population are using the Internet, and almost 60 per cent of homes in the province are equipped with a PC, both well above the Canadian average (2).

"Using the Internet as a means of communication is expected to be as universal as telephone usage today," says Mark Goldberg, principal, Mark H. Goldberg & Associates, Inc. "Canada has become one of the most connected countries on earth. With telecommunications becoming so pervasive in the lives of€”not only the mobile workforce€”but also the average citizen, the need for solutions such as iComMand will continue to grow."

THE ICOMMAND ADVANTAGE:

iComMand fully integrates communications by fax, e-mail, voice, and paper over the Internet. By using a single local phone number for combined fax, e-mail and voice-mail, the Conexys iComMand offers a complete portfolio of Unified Messaging services retrievable in or from various communication media within a personalized, interactive Web portal€”something no Unified Messaging provider currently offers. Conexys is also the only company in the category that allows fax to fax sending over an Internet Protocol (IP) virtual private network (VPN), which reduces long distance charges for the sender without the need for additional hardware or software.

The primary concept of iComMand is a single in-box, within a content-rich, customizable, user-friendly interface that becomes the "command" center for all of an individual's communications.

The benefits of using iComMand to make your communication more efficient are:
