First Ecom.com Announces New Initiatives

Hong Kong, 16 May, 2000 - First Ecom.com (NASD OTC BB: FECC, BSX: FECC, FECC.BH), a global provider of electronic payment processing systems, added four new implementation partners in April. These partners will receive training to enable them to integrate merchant e-commerce Web sites with the First Ecom.com gateway.

The new First Ecom.com Web developer and systems integrator partners are:

· Extant Asia - Hong Kong

· iBase Consultants - Hong Kong

· Internad Ltd. - Hong Kong

· Prodata Ltd. - Hong Kong and the Philippines

"This bring First Ecom's partner total to 53 industry leaders," said Gregory Pek, president and CEO of First Ecom.com. "These partners will refer merchants to First Ecom enabled banks and will be a valuable resource in assisting local banks with the system integration of their merchants."

Event Update

First Ecom.com was involved in the following promotional events during the month:

· April 20: Provided partner training for iAsiaWorks, a pan-Asian Internet solutions provider.

· April 26-28: CEO Gregory Pek participated in a roundtable discussion at the Fourth Annual Business Week CFO Forum entitled "Driving Growth and Performance in the New Economy."

· April 27: Launched the World's Best-In-Class E-commerce Solutions bundle at the Sybase Asian Solutions Centre along with Sun Microsystems and inter-Merchant.

· May 2: First Ecom.com joins with FISC in Signing Ceremony and E-Commerce Initiative in Taiwan

World's Best-In-Class E-commerce Solution

On April 27, 2000, First Ecom.com, Sybase, Sun Microsystems, and inter-Merchant launched an out-of-the-box solution that allows enterprises to easily set up a complete Internet e-store. This turnkey solution combines the strengths of these four leading e-commerce solution providers into a convenient and cost-effective package. It is fully integrated with the First Ecom.com payment gateway and includes all the hardware and software needed for merchants to open a feature-rich e-store. This solution is tailored for SMEs (Small to Medium Enterprises) and will be launched throughout the region.

Business Week Roundtable

On April 28, 2000, First Ecom.com President and CEO Gregory Pek participated in a roundtable discussion on "The New Banking Environment in Asia" at the Fourth Annual Business Week CFO Forum - "Driving Growth and Performance in the New Economy." The panel was comprised of representatives from Deutsche Bank AG and Standard & Poor's, Hong Kong. Among the many topics discussed were: "The massive changes within the banking sector and how they affect individual businesses and long-term markets," and "The implications for Asian companies and CFOs."

Signing Ceremony and E-Commerce Initiative in Taiwan

First Ecom.com Inc. and Financial Information Services Co., Ltd. (FISC) announced a landmark e-commerce initiative in Taiwan involving the participation of 12 Taiwanese banks in a four-month pilot project to provide a safe and convenient e-payment solution. FISC is responsible for inter-bank systems and credit card services for 440 Taiwanese banks and financial institutions.

Payment Processing for Banks and Financial Institutions

The first Asian bank to use First Ecom.com's payment processing solutions has successfully completed their User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and is currently scheduling live merchant testing. Upon successful completion of the merchant testing, the bank is expected to fully go live.

New Appointments

During the month of April, First Ecom.com announced the appointment of Peter De Rosa as President, First Ecom.com (Canada) Inc. De Rosa previously held senior management positions at Toronto Dominion Bank, Central Guaranty Trust, and the Bank of Montreal. He brings more than 15 years with Canadian companies and a strong general management background in the card industry to the company.

First Ecom.com also reports the appointment of Seow Kien Guan as Country Representative, Malaysia. Seow's 11 years of regional experience include selling and marketing of Point of Sales (POS) terminals, Automated Teller Machines (ATM), wireless communications and transaction processing systems.
