ST. DAVID'S, BERMUDA, January 21, 2000 -- GlobeNet Communications Group Limited announced today that Jerry DeMartino has stepped down as Chief Executive Officer for medical reasons. GlobeNet Chairman Mike Kedar has agreed to return as acting CEO until a new chief executive is named. Kedar, who founded GlobeNet in 1997, served as CEO through October 1999 and has been actively involved in the company since that time.
