Mr. Gutteridge, a Bermudian, was formerly Americas Regional Director of Information Technology for the international accounting firm of KPMG.
In his new role as head of IT for XL's Bermuda units, he will work to ensure that XL's IT systems are capable of sustaining the competitive advantages of the Company's Bermuda-based businesses. In particular, Mr. Gutteridge will manage existing IT systems and platforms while advising on the potential application of new technologies.

Mr. Gutteridge was with KPMG for 12 years, joining the accounting firm in 1987 as an IT consultant. In his former position, he was responsible for the IT activities of Caribbean, South and Central American practices and liaison with US and Canadian practices. He was a member of KPMG's Global CIO advisory group as well as the Global Technical Architecture Group.
